Summary of the Global Conference on Measuring New Forms of Employment
July 4-5, 2024. Organized by Eurostat in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO), the event brought together high-profile policymakers, statistical experts, and researchers from the labor market domain, as well as representatives from workers’ and employers’ organizations from Europe and around the world.
Objectives and Themes
The main aim of the conference was to discuss and develop reliable statistics to measure and understand new forms of employment. In the context of rapid labor market changes driven by digitalization, artificial intelligence, and demographic shifts, participants emphasized the need for precise and relevant data to monitor and adapt labor policies.

Participation of AASR
The Association of Foreign Employees in Romania (AASR) was represented at the conference by its president, Mr. Cristian Ganea. AASR’s participation was crucial in highlighting the specific challenges and solutions related to integrating non-EU foreign citizens into the Romanian labor market. Mr. Ganea emphasized the importance of collecting accurate data to support integration policies and ensure the rights and well-being of foreign employees.
