Romania–Ethiopia Economic Meeting hosted by CCIB on 10.12.2025 marks important progress in bilateral cooperation

On 10 December 2025, the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) hosted a new Romania–Ethiopia economic meeting, marking significant progress in bilateral cooperation. Discussions focused on trade, investment, institutional partnerships, and preparations for Romania’s participation at the Addis Ababa International Trade Fair. The event also featured a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony offered by Abyssinian Bar & Restaurant.

On 10 December 2025, the Bucharest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) hosted an official meeting dedicated to strengthening economic and institutional cooperation between Romania and Ethiopia.

The event brought together:

  • H.E. Tsegab Kebebew Daka, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Romania,
  • the leadership of CCIB,
  • representatives of MEDAT – the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism,
  • representatives of ARICE – the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade,
  • the delegation of AASR and Nicaero Financial Consulting,
  • Romanian companies exploring opportunities for cooperation,
  • and Nordic Trading PLC, the official partner of AASR in Ethiopia.

Participants also enjoyed an authentic cultural moment – the traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, presented by Abyssinian Bar & Restaurant.

Outcomes of the meeting

The meeting held at CCIB on 10.12.2025 resulted in:

  • defining the next steps for upcoming bilateral consultations,
  • reaffirming the interest of both Romanian and Ethiopian stakeholders in strengthening cooperation,
  • identifying priority sectors such as agriculture, tourism, digitalization, coffee, logistics, energy and labor mobility,
  • and continuing collaboration between AASR and its institutional and economic partners, including Nordic Trading PLC in Ethiopia.
