Bucharest, 30 July 2026 – The Association of Foreign Employees from Romania (AASR) organised a new information and prevention session dedicated to foreign delivery riders working in Romania, focusing on road safety, legal responsibilities, hygiene practices and professional responsibility in delivery activities.
The event took place at the headquarters of the Bucharest Traffic Police Brigade and was organised as part of the programme developed by AASR in partnership with the National Corps of Police Officers and with the support of the Bucharest Traffic Police Brigade.
The initiative is part of AASR’s continuous efforts to support the responsible integration of foreign employees legally working in Romania by providing access to correct information, practical guidance and training adapted to their professional activities.
The session brought together foreign delivery riders, representatives of public institutions, professional organisations and private partners involved in supporting safer and more responsible working environments.
Information on the Rights and Legal Responsibilities of Foreign Employees
During the session, Chief Commissioner George Ionuț Lătărețu, representative of the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI), presented participants with information regarding the main obligations applicable to third-country nationals employed in Romania, as well as the rights they benefit from when respecting the Romanian legal framework.
The presentation highlighted the importance of understanding employment and residence requirements, compliance with national legislation and the role of accurate information in preventing situations caused by lack of awareness.
Road Safety Training for Foreign Delivery Riders
The road safety module was delivered by representatives of the Bucharest Traffic Police Brigade, coordinated by Chief Commissioner Claudiu Costea.
Participants received practical information regarding:
- traffic rules and preventive behaviour;
- responsibilities of road users;
- risks associated with delivery activities;
- the importance of protecting their own safety and the safety of other participants in traffic.
The main message was that road safety represents a shared responsibility, and respecting traffic regulations contributes to safer communities.
Hygiene Module Dedicated to Delivery Activities
Within this session, AASR introduced a dedicated hygiene module adapted to delivery activities, developed as part of the educational programmes created by the Association.
The module is based on an essential principle:
Workplace hygiene starts with personal hygiene and with each individual’s responsibility towards the community in which they live and work.
The presentation was delivered by Ms. Simina Chilea, representative of Farmacia DONA, based on the educational material developed by Anca Andreea Ganea – Trainer and Healthcare Professional specialised in Emergency Medicine.
The hygiene module addressed practical aspects related to delivery activities, including:
- personal hygiene and proper handwashing practices;
- maintaining clean work equipment;
- hygiene and sanitation of delivery bags;
- protecting transported food products;
- responsibility towards customers and the wider community.
As a practical element supporting the prevention message, Farmacia DONA provided participants with hygiene and disinfecting kits, reinforcing the importance of maintaining appropriate hygiene standards in delivery activities.
Institutional Cooperation for Prevention and Responsibility
The event also benefited from the participation of Mr. Rus Lucian Teodor, Secretary General of the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).
His intervention highlighted the importance Romania places on hygiene standards, consumer protection and individual responsibility in activities involving services provided to the public.
The session was supported by translation into the participants’ native language, ensuring that the information provided could be clearly understood and correctly applied. The translation support was provided by Khan Muhammad SAAD.
Building Safer Communities Through Information and Prevention
Through these initiatives, AASR continues to develop information and training programmes dedicated to foreign employees working and living legally in Romania, in cooperation with public institutions, professional organisations and private partners.
Road safety, hygiene, compliance with legislation and professional responsibility represent essential elements for:
- safer working environments;
- better integration;
- stronger cooperation between institutions, companies and communities.
The event received media coverage through the presence of representatives from Antena Stars and Digi24, highlighting the importance of prevention and information initiatives dedicated to foreign employees in Romania.
AASR will continue developing educational and preventive programmes aimed at supporting foreign employees and promoting responsible participation in Romanian society.
